It's a magical place. The landscape, the scents, the animals, the service, and the educational and environmental process this place provides are wonderful. It's incredible how the bears here have such a great quality of life and receive meticulous care... I loved this place and recommend it 100%.

Logistics & FAQ
What is the meeting point?
To ensure we head up the mountain together and begin our environmental immersion from kilometer zero, we suggest meeting at the Terpel Gas Station in the town of La Calera. However, the exact location is flexible, and we can coordinate it based on your group's convenience.
What about meals?
Don't worry about food; your day pass includes an artisanal snack, hot beverages for the weather, and a typical Colombian lunch—or a vegetarian option if you prefer.
What is the starting time?
We suggest meeting at 07:00 AM to make the most of the daylight and weather (the journey to the heart of the reserve takes approx. 2 hours). But we don't want you to stress about waking up early: the time is 100% flexible and we adjust it to your group's pace and preference.
Can anyone do the hike? Is it too difficult?
Our trails are designed for enjoyment and connection, not physical exhaustion. They have a mild difficulty level (low-medium), with minimized environmental impact. You don't need to be an expert athlete, just have the willingness to walk through the forest.
What should you bring?
The paramo weather is magical and ever-changing (cold/warm). We recommend wearing comfortable clothing in layers, a waterproof jacket or windbreaker, sturdy hiking shoes with good grip, a hat, and sunscreen.
Is it a child-friendly experience?
Absolutely! It is the perfect environmental classroom to educate new generations. We recommend the experience for children aged 6 or 7 and up so they can enjoy it to the fullest, although we welcome future guardians of all ages.
What if I don't have my own vehicle to get from La Calera to the reserve?
We've got you covered! For small groups (1 to 4 people) without their own transport, we offer an optional private transportation service from the meeting point in La Calera to the reserve for an additional $250,000 COP (total cost per vehicle).
Can I bring my pet?
Out of love and respect for nature, No. We are a protected ecosystem and home to the only Andean Bear rehabilitation sanctuary in the country. To guarantee biosecurity and the well-being of the wildlife and our ecosystem, the entry of domestic animals is strictly restricted.
